By the lessons of the past
We are guided into the future.

This is the theme of the Pacific Arts Association 12th International Symposium which will be held next year, 14 - 17 March 2016 in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

The symposium is being hosted by the Auckland War Memorial Museum - Tāmaki Paenga Hira, one of NPM's Research Partners and will be held at a new venue on each of the four days:

  • Day One - Orakei Marae
  • Day Two - Auckland Art Gallery + AUT
  • Day Three - Auckland Museum
  • Day Four - Mangere Arts Centre.

Scheduled between Polyfest 2016 and the Pasifika Festival: two of the largest Pacific cultural offerings in the Southern Hemisphere, the Symposium will present a wide range of ideas and topics  to  provoke discussion and encourage exchange.

  • Voice of the Maker - Enduring Practices
  • Cultural Space - Sites and Sights

The call for participation has been extended out to October 19th. This is the chance for you to submit your abstract on one of the four subthemes above.
