This internship programme is intended to provide experience and support for Māori students interested in pursuing research and building their research capability and capacity.
The Interns will work under the direction and guidance of a Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) Investigator on a research project aligned to the research themes and programme of NPM. Fifteen internships will be available for the period December 2016 through to the end of February 2017.
There are two stages in the internship process:
- Invitation to our NPM Investigators to submit an internship project proposal - Project proposals were due by 31 August
- Invitation to Māori students to apply for a internship project - Student applications NOW OPEN BY 22 September
Stage One: Invitation to our NPM Investigators to submit an intern project proposal

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THE INTERNSHIP PROJECTS WILL NOW BE ADVERTISED FOR STUDENT APPLICATIONS BY 22 SEPTEMBER.
